ABOUT

Wild Eye is an exciting art and nature programme celebrating Scarborough’s incredible wildlife and coastal environment. Local communities, leading artists, businesses, and scientists work together to create events, artworks, and experiences that connect people with the natural world and support positive action for nature.

Wild Eye aims to foster a greater understanding of the incredible wildlife found across the North Yorkshire Coast, raising awareness of issues around nature, biodiversity and climate change.

SeaGrown was pleased to contribute to this programme through our own past Wild Eye event series held aboard our vessel.

OUR PARTICIPATION

As part of our previous community engagement aboard our vessel in Scarborough Harbour, SeaGrown hosted the popular "Wild Eye" event series.

Highlights included regular collaborations with acclaimed local chef, Rob Green. Rob's sessions celebrated sustainable Yorkshire coast seafood, featuring accessible recipes and fantastic cooking demonstrations which typically took place monthly.

Additionally, Sundays often featured informative talks by SeaGrown's Alice in the former visitor centre area onboard. Suitable for all ages, these engaging presentations explored the fascinating world of seaweed, SeaGrown's pioneering cultivation work, and the future of ocean conservation.

These Wild Eye events were always offered free to the public, reflecting our commitment to sharing knowledge about our marine environment during that time.

Wild Eye was delivered by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and Invisible Dust in partnership with North Yorkshire Council.
